Great Local Food is On Its Way! The market begins this Wednesday for its second year in our space at Westport Road and Wyoming Street, three blocks east of State Line. We are so grateful to Emmanuel Lutheran Church for offering their auxillary lot again for the neighborhood market. Look forward to new or returning additions to the WPFM this season; including new vendors, the Beans and Greens Program, a monthly raffle for exciting prizes, and arts and crafts for the young and old. We are so happy to have these wonderful perennial favorites back this season...

This year we are excited to be a part of Beans and Greens! This is a Kansas City program which allows those with SNAP cards/ food stamps to get double the amount of fresh food for their dollar from farmers' markets. Using our little machine, we will also be able to accept debit cards at the market. We are still waiting for the feds to send us the card reader, so you may have to wait until a Wednesday in the near future to utilize these resources at WPFM.

Stop by after work near the Plaza, Westport, the KU Medical Center or anywhere in midtown KC. Talk with the farmers as you stock up for the week. If you live in the neighborhood, stroll on over and bring the family! The market will also be accepting debit cards for those who forget to bring cash. Wednesdays from 4:30-7:30, May 4th through October 12th. |
