Johnson County Government is hosting their first annual Go Green, Save Green Earth Day event. Please join us over the lunch hour to learn about how to go green and save green from informational booths hosted by community environmental organizations and see what sustainable efforts are happening in Johnson County Government. The entire event is FREE and open to the public.

11:30 - 12:00 (meet in the lobby)

Tour of Sunset Drive LEED certified building with Neal Angrisano and the 360 Architects.

12:00 - 12:30 (in front of Susnet)

Tree Planting ceremony at Sunset. Also learn about how to plant a tree in your yard, the right tree for the right place and species varieties.

12:30 - 1:00 (class held in Garden Demonstration)

Learn how to build a rain barrel. Save money on watering your garden and reduce your impact on the storm drains.

12:30 - 1:00 (room 1060)

Learn how to start a backyard compost pile from the experts. Live in an apartment? You can learn to compost with worms!

Take a walk about the Master Gardener's demonstration garden and learn how you can plant your own low maintenance garden.
