Survival
It's all about staying alive. We eat fresh, healthy foods to sustain ourselves. We help growers make a living. We support methods which encourage life, rather than destroying it. We all need clean air, soil, water and food to survive. A local market with sustainably produced food is a sure way to maintain our resources and help ourselves thrive.

Recently, Farm Aid came to KC with it's message of honoring and supporting the American small farmer. When this organization started out 26 years ago, its mission was to keep traditional farms in the hands of families. Though a valiant effort, the vast majority of these lands have been usurped by large agribusiness firms, encroached upon by suburban development or abandoned. Today, the attention has been turned towards keeping foods local, using innovative and traditionally successful methods of sustainable agriculture.
Organic growing is an art that is becoming available to more and more people as education about the toxic effects of conventional farms has increased. This trend has been expanding exponentially in terms of access and popularity for twenty years or more. Westport Plaza shoppers, let's continue to invest in this crucial lifestyle! You are the foundation of this movement towards a more mutually beneficial way of eating.
