BADSEED's Funkadelic Friday FARMERS' MARKET at 1909 McGee (E. Crossroads, KCMO) 4p-9p

Fanatical Foodies and Earnest Eaters -

Wow!  It has been mighty HOT and mighty WINDY these past few days.  The drought continues and we farmers are keeping our fingers crossed that the forecasted storms blow in this evening.  We need rain BAD.

Despite the heat, the URBAVORE crew has spent the better part of the week digging somewhere around 5000 bulbs of garlic!!!  (That's right, vampires stay the hell away from my farm!).  Believe it or not, the digging of the garlic was nowhere as strenuous as the planting of the garlic last Fall.  It was our first season in "no-till" vegetable production on new land.  We dug 5000 individual planting holes by hand because (due to the extreme drought) we were unable to dig furrows.  I kid you not, it was like chipping away at granite...the ground was that freakin' hard!!  Farmer Dan dug a number of planting holes with (then) 5 month old Percy strapped to his back, sleeping soundly...

That's right folks.....this sale is going to be AWESOME!! Farmer Brooke is sooooo excited. The "homegrown revolution" starts in your very own backyards (and although I love to FEED you from my own farm production) nothing pleases me more than helping you FEED YOURSELVES. Personal empowerment and the "fullness of sensuality" is but a few garden transplants away!! Pulling that blushing crimson beefsteak tomato from the vine and sinking your teeth into it's orgasmic flesh is nothing short of heaven on earth.

My righteous gang of growers have some totally wicked heirloom varieties available that you simply cannot find anywhere else. The possibilities are endless......go wild!! Last year's sale was a mad house, so come closer to 4 PM for a full selection of garden goodness.

***Also available - Locally Grown & Locally Milled Flour from Heartland Mill, as well as a limited quantity of free-range eggs, and perhaps some early spring produce.

***For specific crop varieties from each farm, READ ON......
