Greetings,
On Thursday, September 8th, 2011, Johnson County Community College will host “Farmin’ the ‘Burbs,” our fourth annual Sustainability Expo & Dinner. Each year, this event has allowed JCCC to showcase area farmers and purveyors that are taking a more sustainable approach to agriculture and food production. We would like to invite you to join this exciting conversation by being a vendor at our Expo, which will feature local and sustainably-oriented producers like yourself.
Last year over 90 members of the Johnson County and campus community attended the Sustainability Expo & Dinner. We expect this year to be an even greater success, providing you with a rich audience with which to discuss your products and practices. The Expo will take place from 4-6pm, where tables will be provided for vendors to display their wares and offer samples if they are able. To see a video from last year’s event, click here.
Following the Expo, a 5-course dinner will be served, featuring locally grown food prepared by JCCC's Executive Chef Tim Johnson. Those vendors who are interested in donating at least $65.00 worth of their product to be featured either in the dinner or in one of JCCC’s dining venues will receive one free ticket to the event.
We hope you will considering joining us for “Farmin’ the ‘Burbs”: JCCC Sustainability Expo & Dinner. You are welcome to contact either myself or Tim Johnson at tjohns81@jccc.edu or 913-469-8500 x4262 with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best,
