Utilizing vacant properties for food production is one way cities across the nation are putting properties back into productive use. Kansas City has over 12,000 vacant or abandoned properties. Are gardens and food production one potential way to repurpose our land? A panel of experts will discuss how to harness local policies, practices and citizens to support the production and distribution of food systems that promote regional health, economic and land use opportunities.
