Funky first Friday Farmers Market at BADSEED - A MUST ON FRIDAYS IN THE CROSSROADS

The BADSEED Farmers Market can help you out this "first" Friday from 4:30 - 9 PM with organically grown goodies from our gregarious gang of urban growers. This food is grown in your very own KC stomping grounds!!! Talk about reducing the miles from seed to plate, huh! Food less traveled is fresher and it TASTES BETTER. Nothing like getting in touch with your KC roots by eating food pulled from city dirt.

So what does this city dirt have to offer, you ask? Well - EAT THIS:

*Heirloom Tomatoes in Green Zebra, Yellow Mystery, Japanese Black Trifle, Brandywine, Cherokee Purple, & Woodle Orange
*Heirloom Eggplant in Rosa Bianca, Black Beauty, Listada De Gandia, and Ping Tung to name a few....
*Varietal Summer Squash including French Scallop, Costata Romanesca, Golden Zucchini, and Lebanon
*Onions, Garlic, & Shallots
*Gourmet Potatoes freshly dug!!
*Kale and Rainbow Chard and bodacious BEETS
*Pole Beans in Dragon's Tongue and Rattle Snake
*Culinary Herbs like Purple Ruffles Basil, Genovese Basil, Sage, Thyme, Oregano, Tarragon and Savory
*and last but not least foot long CHINESE RED NOODLE BEANS !!! (you must try these suckers - they are off the hook!! CHECK OUT THE PICS BELOW!!)

From Platte Prairie Farms (KCMO - North Side)
*Squash! Squash! and more Squash!!!....from the "Squashfather", himself
*POTATOES in red and yellow and creamy goodness...
*Tart and Tasty CRAB APPLES
*and more homegrown goodies...

Other weekly delights will include fresh and aged GOAT CHEESE from Goatsbeard Farm, Free-Range EGGS and Baked Goods from Bread of Life Bakery, and fresh-roasted (organic and fair-trade) coffee from our buddies at Puddin' Head!!!!!

"Yum Tum offers gourmet delights lovingly gathered, prepared and preserved for ongoing enjoyment. We make old-fashioned herbal jellies and jams using no commercial pectin and made in small batches with fruit gathered from friendly backyards, farms and orchards of Missouri. Some of our offerings include apple geranium and apple marjoram/pineapple sage jelly, wild strawberry and mulberry fruit spread, peach and rose petal jam, pear honey and old fashioned apple butter."
This week Deb will have Peach Rose Petal Jam, Zucchini Relish, Geranium & Marjoram Jelly made with crab apples, and Fire Roasted Salsa.....mmmmmm!

Also, musical stylings by the brother/sister duo Luna Cantera.
