KC Urban Farms & Gardens Tour
Saturday at 10:00am - Sunday at 5:00pm
Washington Square Park by Crown Center
The 2011 Urban Farms & Gardens Tour encourages you to GET YOUR GROW ON… and BIKE IT!
Urban Agriculture plays a key role toward creating sustainable communities by providing food for our city that doesn’t travel hundreds (or thousands) of miles to make it to your table.
The Urban Farms & Gardens Tour gives city residents the opportunity to see, taste, and experience the food that is growing in our neighborhoods. Going with the theme of reducing our carbon footprint, for the first time the Tour officially invites you to GET YOUR GROW ON… and BIKE IT!
Pull your bike out, strap on a helmet and get ready to bike your way through KC’s Urban Farms & Gardens in any of four ways:
Ride with the Group: Meet at 9:30 at Washington Square Park by the fountains (parking is free in the Crown Center garage on the weekend) to depart at 10:00 am on either Saturday or Sunday to join a group ride to selected Tour sites
Download a bike route off the website: Select a Downloadable Bike Route from the website (coming soon) and ride at your leisure anytime between 10 am – 5 pm
We care about the safety of our riders – whether riding solo or with your own group, Cultivate Kansas City recommends you wear a safety helmet and follow all traffic rules. Wearing a bike helmet is mandatory to participate in any of the Group Rides.
RevolveKC and Family Bicycles will go over bike safety before each group ride.
The Wheel Cyclery will provide support along the route.
