A St. Louis-based distributor is recalling grape tomato packs over fears of salmonella contamination.
On Nov. 30, Front Row Produce announced its recall of 10-ounce packs and 10-pound bulk containers of grape tomatoes supplied by Mission, Texas-based Rio Queen Citrus, according to a Front Row news release.
The recalled product was distributed to foodservice distributors and retailers in Missouri and Illinois.
Random testing by Rio Queen found salmonella in 20-pound bulk grape tomato containers.
As of Nov. 30, no illnesses related to the contamination had been reported.
