YAY! You don't know how long I have been waiting for a convenient, totally righteous, R-@-W m-!-l-k supplier. I get endless requests for this stuff by customers, and I desperately want it for my own family as well. Thanks to Be Whole Again Family Farm in Excelsior Springs, MO our "dairy dreams" have been answered. This beautiful (growing) family went out on a limb and sold their conventional business to delve head-first into sustainable dairy farming. It is truly touching what some folks will do in the name of REAL FOOD! It aint an easy business and they are working their butts off to get things off the ground. That being said, they sure are doing something right cuz I got a gallon last week and it is simply DIVINE. (I skim the cream off the top for my coffee every morning). Anyway, here's the scoop:

As if veggies weren't enough, Deb Borel from YUM TUM is back to spread the love with her glorious jams & jellies. Deb is not really a "newbie", but she's back for the first time this season! We sure have missed her!! For those of you who haven't experienced the love: Yum Tum offers gourmet delights lovingly gathered, prepared and preserved for ongoing enjoyment. They specialize in old-fashioned herbal jellies and jams using no commercial pectin and made in small batches with fruit gathered from friendly backyards, farms and orchards of Missouri. Offerings this week will include herbal jellies, apple butter, amber marmalade (made with grapefruit, lemon and oranges), hand rolled pasta, as well as funky crafts & jewelry (made from recycled materials) from Deb's daughter, Claire.

John has been growing organically since 1984!! He plants, weeds, and harvests all his own crops on urban land that has been chemical free for over 20 years. Produce includes a wide array of vegetable offerings as well as apples, peaches, and pears in season. John is originally from the far off lands of Hawaii where he comes from a long line of pearl divers!! Now he spends his days out of the ocean and in the dirt, growing righteous foods for the Kansas City community. Lucky us!
*I don't know exactly what John and Micki will bring BUT I do know they were out picking in the mud today. We'll have to see what they come up with!! Expect greens and possibly nappa cabbage.
