We're in for a beautiful day at the market this Saturday! Here's what's FRESH:
Gibbs Road Community Farm and Cultivate Kansas City (formally KCCUA)
We’re celebrating the coming end of August on the farm this week. We just know it won’t be long now til we need scarves, gloves and snow boots. We’ve even convinced ourselves we’ll be happy when there is two feet of snow on the ground.
So, this week, we celebrate what August has been and what it has brought us…
Beautiful okra. FAT SWEET POTATOES. Fragrant basil. Lots and lots of summer squash in all shapes, sizes and colors. SQUASH BLOSSOMS. Leeks. Eggplant. Sweet peppers, hot peppers, cucumbers, edamame, scallions, pounds and pounds of potatoes, tomatillos and a few tomatoes. WINTER SQUASH. We’ll also bring beets and nice carrots. No mean carrots ‘round here. We’ll also have plenty of MICROGREENS, sweet potato greens, Funky Fresh Stir Fry mix, some baby kale, a little Swiss chard and purslane for everyone!

Bear Creek Farms
59 degrees this morning - after yesterday's 100 - felt soooo good! Fall just can't come soon enough!
This week we'll have ASPARAGUS - this week and next and that's all for the season. We'll also have tomatoes, eggplant (lots and lots of eggplant!), potatoes, onions, cabbage, swiss chard, zucchini, cucumbers, and more.

OISHII STUDIO SWEETS
Introducing the Oishii Studio Sweets Caramel Lollipops – I am going to kick things off with an Earl Grey Caramel Lollipop. This week I will also have the Beer & Pretzel caramel, Sea Salt, Rosemary, Spicy Pecan, and a few Salted Lime “Margarita” caramels. On the baked good side of things this week I will have our Traditional Scottish Shortbread, Espresso Shortbread, huge Oatmeal-Cranberry Cookies and a deluxe Chocolate Kahlua Brownie. It’s going to be a great weekend!

Josiah and Chris will be at market this week with our whole grain baked goods and Gluten Free products. We can take orders for Gluten free if ordered before Friday. We make Anna's Bread, Hamburger buns, hot dog buns, Raisin Bread, cookies ( snickerdoodle,oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip. chocolate chip. no bakies and happy trail cookies, brownies. blondies and muffins. Our market burritos and quiches also will be available with those farm fresh eggs and veggies.
