Please join the Greater Kansas City Food Policy Coalition as we welcome our special guest, Mark Winne, foremost expert on food policy and author of "Closing the Food Gap: Resetting the Table in the Land of Plenty", at the Farm, Food, Health Conference on March 2-3, 2010, at the American Royal. The March 2 lunch, featuring Mark as the keynote speaker, and his afternoon break-out session are free to Coalition participants and their guests.

Mark will provide the keynote at lunch, examining how policy can close the food gap, as well as the afternoon breakout session, which is targeted to coalition members, planners, elected officials, government representatives, community leaders, and neighborhood advocates. He will engage the audience in the following discussion:

  • What policy can do to address the food system issues with which we are dealing,
  • Why planners and government should be involved in food policy,
  • What are potential approaches given what we know is going on around the country, and
  • Why community food assessments are important, what they can provide, and how we can engage in them.
See the below box for special pricing for Coalition participants and their friends.

We hope you can join us!
