Winter 2011 Update
A warm-hearted hello as winter seems to have arrived.  It was a challenging year.  We had a great start with some awesome new vendors to augment our offerings, but then with one of the driest July's in KC history, we nearly came to a screeching halt at the beginning of the Fall.  But, you kept us going so a big Thank You goes out to all of our most loyal and awesome patrons.  Fortunately, as the temperatures cooled we started getting small spurts of moisture.  It surely crimped our late-summer crops of melons, pumpkins and squash, but we at least had a few to offer.  And now just lately there have been some challenges with the "new" Yahoo email that caused some near conflagrations with our email system...sorry for the delay of this notice arriving to some of you.
Well, the good news.  With more and more rain, and more hoop houses, and some new vendors to join our Holiday Market this year things are looking Fantastic!  We will have the regular highly sought after selections of winter greens- spinach, kale, chard, arugula, mustard greens, some lettuces, etc; various squashes; regular and sweet potatoes; garlic and onions; radishes and turnips; pecans; Fair-Trade (FT) coffees- by the cup and by the bag; the regular fabulous full-line of the bakery breads including gluten-free and specialties, plus extra sweet breads and pies; home-made artisan natural-stone jewelry; body-care products to the extreme- I had no idea all of these things could be made by local artisans- the normal soaps and oils we have had for years, but now deodorant and toothpaste, too!, body cremes, bath salts, serums, masks, exfoliates, and other things I do not begin to understand what they are for nor how they really work (my gender ignorance); and laundry detergent, furniture polish, and glass cleaner; and then there are the eggs, meats, and lots of other heartier staples.
Now, as if that would not be enough, we are excited to feature some new items brought by our special new vendors this year:  caramel candies and apples, new cookies and brownies, broccoli, awesome spices, creme pies, canned spiced peaches, herbs, soy candles, room fresheners and diffusers, evergreen, pine cones, and wreathes for decorating, fire-starters, and straight from their farm's own trees- home-made cedar bird houses.  There are also surely to be a few other things that I have failed to mention.  So, come on out, and please help us to spread the word.  Post this or the flier to your Facebook pages or other venues.  Post the flier at work, church, and everywhere; and, forward this email to your friends, family, and all.  We are proud of the alternative gift-giving opportunities our Local and Organic community can offer KC.  Please note the flier on our website has a concise listing of all of the pertinent details.  And if you go to the website the flier is also there, along with helpful maps.  (And please remember that we are now in the New Grande Salle, around in the back of the school's new addition, with lots of parking.)

Looking forward to seeing you all again, it looks to be another extravaganza.  Where we believe Local-Organic is 'near-wild-heaven...'
