BADSEED Funky WINTER Friday Farmers' Market - KCMO @ 4-8pm @ 19th & McGee - 20120217

Dearest Die-Hard LOCAL FOODIES -

Can you believe there are only TWO Winter Markets left for the season??  No joke!  The ultra fabulous BADSEED Farmers' Market is closed in March and April for spring planting.  We re-open with a big fat BANG in May.  That means you'd better LOAD UP on local-organic goodness these next two Fridays.  Some items are perishable, but many are not.  Farm fresh eggs (which we have a vast abundance of right now!!) will store for quite a long time in your fridge.  Grass-fed meats available from both Parker Farms & Wells Family Farms are already frozen so the sky's the limit!  Canned goods, coffee, herbal teas, granola, and luscious organic body products are just a few other offerings you can stock up on and enjoy through the off months.  Even Chris's or Lew's rustic baked breads can be frozen, as well as garden fresh greens.  Don't worry...May is right around the corner!  By the time you've eaten through your stocked-up goodies and you're about to gnaw off your (local organic) arm, we BADSEED Farmers will be bursting at the seams with fresh spring flavor.  Remember - we live to feed, so you'd better EAT.  See you Friday.

Speaking of spring planting and preparations for the up-coming season, now is the time to FIND A FARMER!!!  Say what?  We'll, you've got many healthcare providers, right?  You've got a doctor, a dentist, a chiropractor, a massage therapist, a personal trainer, so on and so forth.  Yet FOOD is our daily medicine and you mean to tell me you don't have a FARMER!!!  Get one this Saturday!  Check it out:

Parker Farms All-Natural Meats
Tom & Paula Parker
Richmond, MO
"We produce all-natural gourmet beef, lamb, pork, poultry, and eggs.  All of our beef and lamb is 100% grassfed. They are never fed any grain, animal by products, antibiotics, or injected with growth hormones. We have been practicing Management Intensive Grazing since 1997. It is our goal to care for all of the livestock that we have been blessed with, in as natural and humane a manner as we can.  Our chickens for meat and eggs are also raised on pasture with green grass under their feet as much as the weather in this part of the world allows.  Our hogs are fed grain, but do live outdoors with dirt under their feet.  We do not use any petroleum based pesticides or fertilizers on our pastures. We believe that healthy people, and healthy animals start with healthy plants and a healthy, biologically active, soil community.  Our meats are available at the BADSEED Market or through our Community Supported Agriculture shares."
