Especially convenient for residents of Waldo, Brookside, Southtown neighborhoods and Prairie Village, the new Waldo Market is a mid-week, after-work opportunity to purchase organically and sustainably grown fresh, local produce along with other specialties such as bread, coffee, and soaps.

Our season will run through August 31, 2011 with consideration for extending into September.

Fresh Opportunities      Coming to your neighborhood this week, we'll have a wide range of new additions to the market.   First off, we are proud to announce that we will be accepting SNAP, Vision and Quest food stamp cards at the market for double their value through the Beans and Greens program.  In addition, we can take debit cards for your regular market purchases.  Come visit the market tent (the one with the lil' window) for details.      Monthly darwings for valuable gifts and prizes begin this week with a sweet deal from one of our vendors.  Kathi, from Ms Fit Ranch has offered to provide a half off coupon to her Bed and Breakfast at her lovely farm near Liberty.  Fill out a free raffle ticket with your name and email address at all of your points of purchase at the market and you will have a chance to be a winner (or more of a winner than you already are)!   We'll draw your ticket at the end of market and email you if you've won.     On a musical note, the Green Spirit Band will inspire and uplift with their conscious harmonies. Stan Slaughter, Linda Chubbock and Judy Best are local favorites among KC's environmental movers and shakers.  You can hear their music and find out more by clicking here.      The state of Missouri's farmer advocacy organization, AgriMissouri will be inviting you to sign up to be a part of their 10,000 Garden Challenge.  This initiative has been building excitement among home gardeners in the state and is bringing attention to the many Missourians who love to plant and harvest (and even the few who love to weed and hoe).  Get your growing space on the list Wednesday!     Oh yeah, and there will be this fresh produce and other great local items at the market, too!!! asparagus swiss chard lettuce arugula heirloom tomato, pepper, and herb transplants free range eggs grass fed beef and Kim's Special Stew Blend onions kale radishes zucchini mustard green mix lamb (So good) hot food wondous baked goods from loaves to brownies, many vegan or gluten free hopefully strawberries and AMAZING FRESH FLOWERS If you haven't checked out these flowers yet, you need to see, smell and feel them to believe their beauty and variety.
