Thanks for coming and helping to make our Fall Festival a great day!

We will be joined by Fine Kettle of Fish playing the early shift this Saturday and will introduce our new musical friends The Real Butter Pancake Band on second shift - "Serving up tasty tunes that will stick to the insides of your heart and thicken the blood in your veins."

And if that doesn’t make you hungry enough, here’s what else you can expect. It’s going to be a beautiful day. See you there!

From Bread of Life Bakery

Hi Brookside!
We are busy around here gating ready for wedding #3 on Sunday. Amanda and Andrew will start their lives together and we feel very fortunate to add another to our family.
Amanda will still be baking and working Sweet Sisters Gluten Free Bakery with Bethany.
Luke will be at market this week with Gluten Free bread, muffins, yummy blondies and brownies. Whole grains breads, cookies and granola also will be on the table.
Our burritos quiches will have farm fresh eggs, market peppers, sausage, potatoes and or squash.Come by for a cup of coffee and enjoy the fall day at Brookeside Farmers Market.

From KCCUA’s Community Farm

Loving those blue Kansas skies!
And these oh-so-perfect fall temps!
Summer seems like so long ago (thank goodness!), but I can hardly believe the markets are drawing to an end…only four more markets this year, so
Don’t miss a single one!
We’ll be bringing our best this Saturday including
Swiss Chard and Kale!
Green beans and Edamame.
Carrots, beets, turnips and radishes.
Sweet potatoes and winter squash.
Sweet peppers, hot peppers and eggplant.
SPINACH (just a little this week)
Salad mix, arugula, Funky Fresh, Malabar spinach and Giant Mustard.
Bok Choi,
Basil and fresh herbs.
Summer’s over, but we’re not done, sign up for our fall/winter CSA email and receive a weekly listing of our organic and very local produce. If things go well (and all signs point well into wonderful) then we’ll be offering weekly bags into December and possibly into the wee hours of 2011.
Stop by our corner stand. Look for the hard working, best-dressed, smilingest farmers in town…and buy some veggies!

John and Sandy with NUTRESSANT

Yes, we have heard all of you who are searching for an Organic Lavender Soap
and it is now on our table. Personally, I have never appreciated what Lavender
Essential Oil does for the skin but I am now a believer. And, the suds with this
soap are awesome!
As the Holidays are right around the corner, this is the time to start thinking about stocking stuffers and we will have what you need if you want to make a gift basket. We will have both a small and medium gift bag and also a small and medium gift basket. Most people will receive some kind of body product for the holidays, so why not make it an organic body product, especially nice for people who need an introduction to cleaner, healthier products.
Well, in the meanwhile, come out and join us for a nice fresh fall morning. In the spring
and in the fall, I am conscious of looking for a good reason to be outside, and this market
is a really good reason. Sandy and John

Green Dirt Farm will be at the market with more of that great batch of
Bossa and all of our other cheeses. We will also have plenty of lamb
cuts. We had such lovely weather last weekend and it looks to be equally
beautiful this Saturday. Hope we'll see you!

From Blue Door Farm:

Ah, I love this weather! While it lasts I hope you'll visit market and pick up some: japanese eggplant, tender young lettuce, sweet italian peppers, healthy italian dandelion greens, quick and tasty stirfry mix, broccoli raab and kale. Also this week: more of Joe Heide's apples! I have mostly Granny Smiths this week, but there are a few Winesaps. I hope to have both in greater quantities next week. See you Saturday! - Laura

Bear Creek Farms

Frost has come - not a total killing one - but sure burned some things. I can't decide if I'm glad or not. We've been so busy in the hay fields I'm not sure what's happening with the veggies, but tomorrow we'll start picking and I'm sure there will be lots.

I do know we'll have more baby new potatoes, crisp arugula, piles of sweet peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, asian pears, okra, yummy baby turnips, mustard greens - delicious in salads or sauted with onions and peppers, winter squash and lots more.

Hope to see everyone Saturday. It may be October but there are still a lot of wonderful vegetables out in all your favorite farmers' fields. Plan to stock up so you'll have great local organic food all winter long!

And you can expect all of our other friends to be there, too! Don't forget to...
